Hi there, and welcome! I’m Randa Abdulkarim, a Palestinian American storyteller with a passion for weaving magical, adventure-filled tales that ignite curiosity in young minds. With master’s degrees in Education and English and a doctorate in Organizational Leadership, I’ve spent my life exploring the art of learning, creativity, and the joy of storytelling. I believe the best stories come from a mix of curiosity, imagination, and just a touch of mischief!
The inspiration for Mayday’s Cat-tastic Escapades came from my family’s real-life whirlwind of fur and energy—Mayday, my daughter’s mischievous Bengal cat. From her daring leaps to her playful antics, Mayday’s adventures brought endless laughter and sparked the idea for a story that invites kids to embrace their own sense of wonder and discovery.
My stories are deeply rooted in my Palestinian heritage, and the name Tales Under the Olive Tree holds special meaning for me. The olive tree, with its ancient roots and enduring strength, is a symbol of resilience, peace, and connection. As a child, I would sit under those trees, captivated by stories that showed me the power of imagination and the bonds that stories create. Today, I hope to pass that same magic along to young readers everywhere.
Mayday’s Cat-tastic Escapades is just the beginning of the tales I dream of telling. Each story I write is a piece of my heart, created to inspire children to laugh, dream big, and find the extraordinary in the everyday.
